Advent 2015 Day 5: Good News

Poem

Turn on the television – terror see –

And watch the news – the breaking horrors hear –

Roads ravaged, wrecked, in rubble and debris –

More car bombings – more fanatics to fear –

Another nation under terror shakes –

Another murder, more dividing views –

Another city destroyed when earth quakes –

Our Facebooks rattled by streaming bad news.

Turn off your feed of fear and hope now heed

And to the clarion of peacetime turn:

The source of utmost joy was born indeed

That everlasting love would in us burn.

The Gospel is the testimony true:

This News is always good and always new.

Passages
