What I believe: that happiness begins
When we surrender at the cross our sins
To Him who never sinned yet bore our death
Of spirit when He yielded up His breath.
Our deadness wrought of sin He knew and bore
That we who walked in death would sin no more,
For off He shook death’s shackles and sin’s throes
And by the Holy Spirit He arose.
Now He who gave Christ Life, though dead and Dead,
Gives us, who once knew death, new Life instead
By dwelling in our hearts to resurrect
The temple that our sin from birth has wrecked.
If at the empty tomb True Life is found
Then to the cross will happiness be bound.
