O God, You are my God and all I seek;
For You alone, my soul is parched with thirst;
For You, my God, my flesh is faint and weak,
As in a weary desert, arid, curst.
So in your sanctuary, I have sought
Your quenching glory, worthy of all praise;
Your steadfast love is sweeter than life’s draught,
So joyous for your name my hands I raise.
As fatty food Your steadfast love will sate
My soul in Your delicious words delights;
In bed, my heart on You will ruminate,
Remembering Your praise through restless nights.
For You, my God, have been my help throughout,
A well-spring of pure joy in driest drought.
Thirst for God (Psalm 63)
