“Give ear to me, O cursing son of wrath:
The LORD is not a man that He should lie
Nor like a son of man who shifts his path.
What He has spoken will He not apply?
The LORD has blessed, He thus my lips commands:
No wickedness may crown their head with thorns,
For God has brought them out of Egypt’s lands;
The LORD, their king, gives ox-like strength and horns.
There is no sorcery ‘gainst Israel
And divination certainly will fail;
This lioness defies the gates of Hell –
Like lions, Jacob’s children will prevail.
For, as the jungle’s king, they need no rest
‘Til they devour their prey. Thus God has blest!”
